Fireworks Festival
One fine evening, a group of meinus decided it'll be a good idea to take a trip down to Marina Bay to watch the Fireworks Festival as well have a good, yummy dinner together.
So here we are,
So here we are,
Me and Xuan on the trainAfter witnessing the fabulous fireworks, amid aromatic stinks of mud and the VERY enthusiastic shouts of neighbouring (read:into my ear) mothers and kids at the totally amazing fireworks. We decided, well, we're hungry. Hence, began the long long trek back to civilisation amongst the rest of the lost beings. It was very crowded. Very very crowded. One wonders, if there was a bomb, we'll all be dead. Anyway, along the way, we discovered a nice place for steamboat! Yes, at the amazing price of $12, you get an array of seafood and more! We picked a table far-far-away from the crowds and plonked ourselves happily at an empty table. Hence, began the forage of food.
Interesting Incident No. 1 : Live PRAWNS!!!
yes,yes..you get a container (those plastic ones for ta-baoing noodles) of live prawns thrown in for the steamboat.. yummy!!!..yes...until we realised that..well....live prawns are very energetic..
Kudos to brave Joyce! who decided to drown the jumping prawns that scared the rest of the shunus in boiling hot water!!!
Xuan : I will STUFF you in with my amazing metal ladle so you don't have the chance to jump out and scare us!!!!*evil cackle*
Peiru: wo shi mei nu!

There we have it! Deliciously yummy soup with red dates, some red thingy i dunno in english and the prawns
of course you can't see the prawns, they have been sunk to the 18th level of soup by Xuan!!
Interesting Incident No 2: Jumping prawn
(no pics, sorry)
As Peiru can testify, we were all totally amazed by the jumping prawns..like, man, can they jump.. even if u like put the lid of the container just a bit loose, they'll jump till the lid is off..and then, OFF to FREEDOM!
We were happily eating when,
Me : eh?? why's the lid off?
Joyce (keeper of prawns) : eh? *fastens lid on*
Out of the corners of our eyes, we see something jumping.
To our horror, it's OUR prawn. Jumping on the floor whenever anyone walks past.
I tell u, it's amazing how high they can jump. Like waist-height leh...considering they are on the verge of death..
Oh NO!!..how like that??? Okok, we'll pretend nothing happened and just wait for it to die, or someone to step on it..
that did not stop us from cackling with evil laughter whenever it jumped and scared someone...waha~~
along comes a waiter, who decides to heroically help us in our dilemma.. he promptly fishes the prawn up, and places it back into the container......
erm...isn't it a bit dirty???
*wahahaahahahahhaha*
smart guy really...then again, i wonder if the prawns are clean to begin with..*gulp*
A heroic tribute to Xuan~
who, upon seeing one live prawn on the table, (accidentally dropped by Joyce), did the only plausible thing
she scooped a ladle of hot, boiling soup,
and scalded little prawnie alive...
*applause*
I think SPCA won't be too happy with people like us at steamboats
anyway.. after that, we went for a little chat at the bowling alley next door cos it was too warm..
then we decided to play a game of football! guess who lost~
